Fall Favorite: LVX

You know when you discover a whole new product that you've never thought about how it was made or what's in it? For me most recently, that's been nail polish. I've always viewed nail polish as a quick, fun thing to pick up at the store when you want something new but don't really need anything. A new shade for a new season can really liven up a tired outfit combination.

Ethical Accessories

While I was searching for ethically made & more natural mascara & powder, I came across a company call LVX. In reading through their website, I learned some rather disheartening information about what's contained in a typical nail polish by the intentionality with which they choose what to put in (and leave out) of theirs. Although as tough as it can be to learn that I've been making unethical purchases with previous polish purchases, having such an amazing alternative quickly picked up my mood!

LVX is a brand that is "5 Free" - a phrase I'd not come across before in the polish world. It means that their polish doesn't contain:

  1. Formaldehyde
  2. Formaldehyde Resin
  3. Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP)
  4. Toluene
  5. Camphor

That's good news for both you & the environment. It's also vegan & cruelty free. Which kinda makes you think about what animal products may be in less intentional brands of nail polish...

So it's an ethical product, produced in the USA - check! It's also a fabulous product.

Ethical Nail Polish

Each fashion season they curate a collection of six colors from the runway & this Fall Collection is incredible! They were kind enough to send us the entire collection to pick from for our Fall Lookbook photo shoot. It was important to us to source everything, even to the last details, as ethically as possible & we were so pumped that LVX choose to partner with us this season!

We settled on the gorgeous gray called Militaire to perfectly fit into our neutral pallet for the shoot.

Of course, I just HAD to test out the other colors before the shoot to make sure it was the right choice & I was so pleased with the quality of the polish. Two coats easily covers & it's also super easy to remove. It kinda made me realize what low quality polish I'd been using in the past - not to mention the chemicals that were being absorbed through the nail bed (read more on this here).

I also tried the blue green Narcissist on my toes thinking it would be a bit too much for me. I gotta tell you - it totally grew on me! I'm usually more of a neutral or classic red gal, but I had a lot of fun rocking something new. Also, LVX is a lot of fun to follow over on Instagram for some great polish inspiration!

All in all, I'm so glad to be able to share yet another ethical option to bring your Fall Wardrobe together in a beautifully sustainable way!

Also, while the polishes were given to Purse & Clutch for our Fall photo shoot as a super generous gift, this blog post is entirely my own opinions about LVX based on my experiences with the polish!
