OUR ETHIOPIA TEAM IS GROWING!

Because you continue to care how things are made, we're excited to announce that we're welcoming new leatherworkers to the Ethiopia team:

Ethiopian Leather Artisan

MEET FANTU:

Fantu studied leather stitching for a couple years, but had to quit working when she had her first baby.  She had been out of work for few years raising her son before joining the team & is now able to support her family.

Both Efrem & Elias were former street kids who enrolled with a local Non-Profit that gave them the opportunity to study leatherwork while at a rehabilitation center. They are both help prepare the leather & do the leather finishings.

MEET AYNALEM:

Aynalem was previously working in factory outside Addis Ababa.  She got married & moved to the city where we connected with her. She didn't study leather working, but has learned entirely through experience. She does cutting & leather preparation & is training herself to stitch as well!

MEET TEFERI:

Teferi has been in leather for while but wasn't able to support his family by having his own business. Joining the team has meant that he can do what he loves while earning enough income to cover his family's bills. He cuts the leather pieces that are then assembled into products.
