Fair Trade Gift Ideas for Her
Last week on the blog, we compiled a list of Fair Trade Ideas to give the men in your life for Christmas. This week, we'll be giving you some ideas for Fair Trade Christmas Gifts for Women.
I'm quickly realizing that this blog post could just as easily be titled "Fair Trade Gift Ideas for Jen" because this is suspiciously similar to the Christmas Wish List I'm compiling.
Let's start off with a few basics that every gal can use a few more of in their wardrobe. This lovely cobalt relaxed tee from One Mango Tree not only is the color I want to be wearing, it has an incredible story of production. According to their website, "This product is 100% East African, from seed-to-sewn. By the time it reaches your hands, more than a dozen people have lovingly contributed to its production, from cutting the fabrics to assembling the garment, checking for quality, pressing, labeling and packing. It creates fair wage jobs all along the way." Retails at $15.00 and available in multiple colors.
Also from One Mango Tree is this stunning canary yellow pencil skirt for $66.00. This is what Fair Trade should be - gorgeous one of a kind details that align perfectly with your unique style!
Sometimes it's the basics that can be the most challenging to find that are made ethically. We're loving the transparency of Everlane and their commitment to ethical supply chains. Available in multiple colors and retails at $15.00.
Next, from Mata Traders, is this lovely Sweetheart Top with a classic silhouette. Retail price is $49.99 and is also available in black. The mission of Mata Traders is to work with organizations that educate, employ, and empower women and believe that equality in the workplace IS possible in a country as socially stratified as India.
And our list wouldn't be complete with a few of our favorites from our shop. We're absolutely in love with this over-sized Fold Over Canvas Clutch from Indonesia ($38.00, also available in Black & White / Navy & White) paired with this Black & White hand loomed Cambodian Scarf ($36.00, available in multiple colors).
We're also eying many of their pieces of jewelry including their Palaise Earrings in Gold (on sale for $5.00), these Stacked Square Earrings made from bone ($24.00), and this Tiger's Eye Necklace in Navy ($32.00, also available in red).
What about you? What's on your Fair Trade Christmas List this year?
