Austin Events this Summer

Austin Events this Summer

This & next week's blogs are the part of our Apprenticeship where each Apprentice takes over the Purse & Clutch social media to gain some hands on experience. Today, I'm excited to introduce you to Sandra & the project she's been working on this summer:

Hi everyone!  It’s Sandra, the social apprentice for Purse & Clutch, and I am blogging with you this week.

Summer is almost here, and in Austin, that means

weekend getaways, concerts, and festivals,

many of which are outdoors and free. The Guatemalan Pouchette is the perfect fashionable accessory to secure a woman’s essential items as they enjoy themselves in Austin.

Throughout the day, I am reading community calendars and noting the events I want to attend this summer.  Several people will flock to the Long Center this summer to capture the variety of entertainment offered at the All Summer Long series of events.

Long Center Free Austin Events

For example, this past Sunday I attended the Gospel Brunch featuring the Jones Family Singers at the Long Center and ate a delicious brunch buffet during their performance.  Although many of the All Summer Long events are free and outdoors, the Long Center offered the Gospel Brunch at an affordable price on the Meredith Family Stage in Dell Hall.

Yes, we ate brunch on a stage while we were greatly entertained.  How amazing is that? Although I’m a church-going lady, this is the first gospel brunch that I have ever attended.  In fact, many of my friends that live in other cities and states had also never heard of a Gospel Brunch that is, eating brunch while enjoying gospel music.

To this concept I respond by saying
it can only happen in Austin!

I am also looking forward to attending the annual and free summer musical at Zilker Hillside in Zilker Park.

Zilker Hillside Theater

This summer, the Zilker Theatre Productions will present Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Oklahoma, its 56th annual production!  I can’t wait to attend.  You see, although I have lived in Austin since 2003, I didn’t know about this summer Austin treasure until I attended last summer with family and friends to see the Little Shop of Horrors.

The quality of the actors and singers is breathtaking.

It’s difficult to believe that such entertainment is offered for free.  I will never miss this annual outdoor summer production again.

For women seeking a worry-free, yet fashionable way to keep their belongings with them while they enjoy themselves at an Austin event, the Guatemalan Pouchette is your best choice. The adjustable strap is perfect for a great across-the-body fit and the tucked leather strap on the front of the pouch lets you know your valuables will be safe and secure - wherever the day leads!
