With our Fall Fashion shoot wrapping up & edits in full swing to get ready for our Launch on Thursday (yippee!), we've had Fall Fashion on our minds around here at Purse & Clutch!
One reason I love trends is that it can help me reimagine the items that are already in my closet. That vintage skirt that's been hanging in my closet for years suddenly has a new variety of tops to pair with it when thinking through the lens of a new fashion trend. So instead of swinging by that boutique you love, first dive into your existing closet & see what gems you can re-discover!
Here's what we're loving this Fall:
White on white ... on white
I've seen it all over NYFW this week & it's a trend I'm eager to embrace! If you're not too keen on white jeans (I just can't pull them off!), try a flowy skirt with a draped thick white cotton crop sweater on top for a chic, effortless look. Bonus - add in a white hat to top it off! We're currently swooning over this one from Goorin Bros (and it's made in the USA) that we borrowed for our photoshoot. Yes it is linen & yes it was SO HARD to give it back!
Think a pleated pant or skirt mixed with a embroidered detailed top and a bit of a thick natural fiber like a wool sweater or scarf to really show off the details of an outfit. Add a bracelet with handmade details (like this Fair Trade Brass one from Bloom + Grace) and you're in business! Just remember, if you're wanting the textural details to stand out, keep the prints and colors subdued so they don't compete.
Neutrals with a pop of neutral
Not to be confused with white on white, although certainly in the same vein, try pairing black, navy, camel, and gray for a sophisticated ensemble. One way to carry the trend even further is to make sure your nails are a gorgeous nude or gray. We've recently discovered a pretty amazing vegan and 5 Free brand called LVX that's featured in our Fall Lookbook (can you tell I'm excited for Thursday?!) that you're going to absolutely swoon over!
We'll be highlighting each of these fabulous companies we partnered with as well as a Fair Trade shoe company called Fortress of Inca here on the blog in the coming weeks.
